  3. Attended a regional seminar on women's rights entitled "After Beijing Towards 2000: Political Strategies of Women's Organizations in Selected Mediterranean Countries", held in Sardinia (June 6 - 11, 1998). Title of the paper presented: "Economic Rights of Women in Lebanon".
  4. Participated as a resource person in a gender workshop organized by the World Bank in Washington (June 29 - July 4, 1998). Subject of the paper presented: "Women in Post-Conflict Environment: The Case of Lebanon".
  5. Selected as a participant in the International Visitor Program on the "Role of Women in Business and Professions" sponsored by the United States Information Agency at the American Embassy in Lebanon (July 13 - 31, 1998).
  6. Chaired the Expert Group Meeting on National Machineries for Gender Equality organized by the United Nations Division for the Advancement of Women and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Carribean (ECLAC). Title of the paper presented “The National Women Machinery: The Lebanese Case” (August 30 - September 4, 1998).
  7. Participated in the Seminar “Lebanon in the 21st Century”, held at Villanova University on October 2-3, 1998. Subject of the paper presented: “Women in Post War Lebanon”.
